What are the time scales for the recruitment process?
Once you’ve completed your application form, you’ll be contacted by one of our graduate recruitment team within five working days. After successfully completing the online tests, you’ll be invited into the next available assessment day.
How will I know if my application has been received?
An automated e-mail will be sent to you as soon as we receive your application form.
Where can I learn what opportunities are still available with Smith & Williamson?
All our available vacancies will be advertised on the search & apply page of our graduate website. With each of the advertised vacancies, you’ll find a link to the online application form.
Can I send a CV to Smith & Williamson?
We do not accept CVs and all applicants are required to complete a standard application form. To access the application form please visit our search & apply page to view all available vacancies.
Do you sponsor work permits for international applicants?
Smith & Williamson sponsor work permits for international applicants, which allow you to work for Smith & Williamson in the UK for three years. We apply for a work permit on your behalf should you be successful in the recruitment process. All recruitment activities take place in the UK, which means international applicants will be required to travel to UK offices. Travel expenses of up to £100 can be reimbursed.
Will you reimburse my travel expenses?
If you travel to an interview or assessment day travel expenses of up to £100 can be reimbursed.
How flexible are you with regards to academic requirements?
There may be some flexibility with regards to academic requirements if extenuating circumstances apply in respect of your academic qualifications. Generally, however, we do not deviate from our stated selection criteria. We take your whole application form into account and do not make decisions solely based on academic requirements.
Will I be able to highlight any extenuating circumstances in relation to my application?
If you would like us to consider anything that may affect your application, please highlight this in the relevant section on the application form.
What happens if my computer crashes whilst I am in the middle of completing my application form?
As long as you save your answers as you complete the application form, this will not be problem.
Do you run an internship programme?
We are looking into this. If you’d like us to keep your CV on file for the next six months, should a position become available, please forward it to the following address humanresources@smith.williamson.co.uk.
Will you tell me how I did on the online tests?
Your results will not be automatically revealed to you. However, if you would like feedback at any point on your application then please contact a member of our graduate recruitment team via the contact us feature.

Who will have access to the information included on my application form?
Smith & Williamson treats any information you supply to us throughout the recruitment process with complete confidentiality. We are able to retain information for six months to let you know of any suitable employment vacancies that may arise. However, no information will be passed on to any third parties.
How many offices do Smith & Williamson operate from?
Smith & Williamson operate from 10 offices throughout the UK; London, Belfast, Bristol, Glasgow, Guildford, Maidstone, North London, Salisbury, Southampton and Worcester. The graduate programmes are not run from all of these, so it is important to check the available vacancies on the search & apply feature.
